Seventh Diversity Summer Camp: apply by 3 July

Seventh Diversity Summer Camp: apply by 3 July

18/06/2026

The human rights initiative Journalists for Tolerance (J4T) invites you to the Diversity Summer Camp! For the seventh year, we are creating a space where you can get to know yourself better, rethink your own beliefs and stereotypes, and learn new ways of communicating with other people and communities. Through experience, games and working together, we explore diversity, inclusion, xenophobia and human rights.

This year the Summer Camp will take place on 13–17 August 2026 near Warsaw, Poland.

Who is the Summer Camp for?

J4T’s mission is to foster a culture of tolerance and inclusion in Belarusian society through media, culture and communication. That is why we invite people who spread information and shape cultural meaning:

🎤 journalists and editors,

📱 bloggers and influencers,

🎙️ podcasters and show hosts,

🖋️ writers,

🎨 people working in culture and the arts,

🏳️‍🌈 queer activists.

What will we do?

Four full days of non-formal education, interaction and active participation await us. The Summer Camp is built on learning through experience, reflection and games.

At the Summer Camp you will be able to:

  • explore human rights at a basic level,
  • learn more about xenophobia, tolerance, the impact of stereotypes and the situation of vulnerable groups in society,
  • take part in forum theatre and examine social situations through action and reflection,
  • face your own xenophobia in an educational LARP,
  • learn to recognise stigmatisation and discrimination and how to avoid them in your work as a journalist, writer or activist.

What do we expect from participants?

  • Experience in journalism, communications, writing or the arts.
  • Interest in human rights, xenophobia and non-discrimination.
  • Taking part in all Summer Camp activities and being ready to work in a team.
  • Readiness to actively use the knowledge and skills you gain in your professional work and activism.

How to apply

Places are limited. To apply, fill in this form by 3 July 2026 inclusive.

Among other things, the form asks you to provide contacts of people from Belarusian media or NGOs who can vouch for you.

  • Participation is free: J4T covers the costs of the programme, the experts, meals and accommodation at the venue.
  • We can provide tickets to Warsaw for those who need them.
  • Selected participants cover their own insurance for their stay in Poland during the Summer Camp.
  • We do not provide visa support.
  • We expect full participation in the Summer Camp’s work. Please keep this in mind when filling in the application form.

We will let you know the results of the selection via the contacts you provide after 13 July.

The Diversity Summer Camp is also a community. Over seven years, a network of alumni has grown who use what they have learned in their professional work, civic engagement and everyday life. This year’s participants will also be able to join our inclusive community.
