This year, in the nomination “Material on Equality and Non-Discrimination of Vulnerable Groups” we received 69 submissions, and 9 editorial offices were nominated for Editorial Office of the Year.
Team of the Year — InshyYa
For their active work in building connections between NGOs and the media, as well as serving as a platform for authors writing about vulnerable groups. The team was selected by members of the “Journalists for Tolerance” initiative.
Editorial Office of the Year — DazHip
A Belarusian media outlet on gender and sexuality, created by Belarusian queer activists for the LGBTQ+ community in Belarus and abroad. The winner was determined through voting among human rights NGOs working with vulnerable groups.
Nomination: Material on Equality and Non-Discrimination of Vulnerable Groups
We received applications from 31 individuals. It is worth noting that in 2024 the number of authors writing under pseudonyms was three times higher compared to the previous year.

First Place
Aliaksei Hulitski (InshyYa) with the article “They invent and gossip a lot about us, but no one wants to get to know us”. A story of Roma activist Rasmy.
Finalists
- Vera Belatsarkouskaya (Nasha Niva) with the article “You close the door and kiss her, because you have the chance”. About women loving women in prison.
- Marina Mikhailava (Solidarity) with the article “The assumption that Belarusians are tolerant harms us greatly as a nation”
- Iryna Arakhouskaya and Volha Bubich (HUKANNE) for a series of illustrations and the text “Whom Auschwitz Remains Silent About”
Jury
The winner was selected by the jury consisting of: Maryna Zahorskaya, Alena Yakzyk, Vasil Yadchanka, and Aleh Razhkou. At the shortlist stage, an additional jury member, Iryna Novik, was involved. The evaluation was carried out using a 10-point system across 6 criteria. In case of a conflict of interest, jury members recused themselves.
